Here's a dumb question, Did Mack make a short hood Superliner? The reason I ask, I saw a Superliner today and the hood looked short. It didn't have the section behind the front fenders. IF they did, I think I'm going to build one. I really liked the way it looked. Thanks for taking the time to read, John

I just checked here: Mack Brochures, and I couldn't find any reference to a short hood Superliner. Doesn't mean they didn't make one, though.

That would be the same length hood and with the axle set back, the section behind the fenders would then be in front of the fenders. I can't recall ever seeing a sbfa Superliner though. GMC General/Chevy Bison resemble the Superliner, possibly one of them. Les

I know it was a superliner. He had Mack "things" all over it. I wish I would have had my camera with me. Thanks for the responses!

I myself kind of like the short hood better, but only for dump trucks or short wheel base Macks. The long hooded ones look amazin with floats and a small 36 inch sleeper~!

I think I'm going to cut the hood down on an Italeri kit. The short hood looks good. The one I saw didn't have the breathers though. Thanks for the pics!

Mack never made a short hood Superliner , but I have seen a Valueliner with a Superliner hood shortened to fit.
